Assign or Edit a QoS Rule
When you select a rule to create or edit (Hot Key 1 through 8), the CLI prompts you to assign
parameters in this order:
Screen Prompt
Specify Protocol for the rule
Specify priority for the rule
Maximum bandwidth in kbps
<0-99999, enter = 99999>:
Source IP address
<enter = 0.0.0.0>:
Number of Source subnet bits
<0,8-32, enter = 0>:
Destination IP address
<enter = 0.0.0.0>:
Number of Destination subnet
bits <0,8-32, enter = 0>:
Specify TCP/UDP source port
[MIN] (1-65535) <Enter: ***>
Specify TCP/UDP source port
[MAX] (1-65535) <Enter: ***>
Specify TCP/UDP destination

Specify your desired rule protocol:
1 for UDP (User Datagram Protocol)
2 for TCP (Transmission Control Protocol)
3 for ICMP (Internet Control Message Protocol)
4 for RTP (Real Time Protocol (includes all RTP – VOCE, VDEO, and RTPS))
5 for VOCE (Voice RTP)
6 for VDEO (Video RTP)
7 for RTPS (RTP Signaling)
8 for FTP (File Transfer Protocol only)
9 for HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol)
10 for TELN (Telnet)
11 for SMPT (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol)
12 for SNMP (Network Management Protocol)
13 for SAP (Service Announcement Protocol)
14 for ORCL (Oracle application traffic)
15 for CTRX (Citrix application traffic)
16 for SQL (Structured Query Language)
17 for IP (Internet Protocol (all inclusive))
18 for N-IP (Non-Internet Protocol (all inclusive))
Where Priority 1 = Highest, and Priority 8 = Lowest:
1 for QoS Priority-1
2 for QoS Priority-2
3 for QoS Priority-3
4 for QoS Priority-4
5 for QoS Priority-5
6 for QoS Priority-6
7 for QoS Priority-7
8 for QoS Priority-8
Type your Maximum Bandwidth, in kbps, from 0 to 99999. If you desire no such
parameter, press [Enter] – the bandwidth defaults to '99999'.
Type your Source IP Address in the form XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX. If you desire no
Source IP Address, press [Enter] – the address displays as '***'.
Type your Source subnet bits value, from 8 to 32. If you desire no Source subnet.
type '0' or press [Enter] – the subnet displays as '/*'.
Type your Destination IP Address in the form XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX. If you desire no
Destination IP Address, press [Enter] – the address displays as '***'.
Type your Destination subnet bits value, from 8 to 32. If you desire no Destination
subnet. type '0' or press [Enter] – the subnet displays as '/*'.
Set the minimum TCP/UDP source port in your range, from 1 to 65535.
If you desire no minimum TCP/UDP source port, press [Enter] – the port displays as
'***'.
This prompt will not display if you do not select a MIN TCP/UDP source port.
Set the maximum TCP/UDP source port in your range, from 1 to 65535.
Set the minimum TCP/UDP destination port in your range, from 1 to 65535. If you
desire no minimum TCP/UDP destination port, press [Enter] – the port displays as
'***'.
