Compatibility Mode
Because certain features of the CDM-570A/570AL Satellite Modem are not backward-compatible
with the CDM-570 (70/140 MHz) and CDM-570L (L-Band) Satellite Modems, the CDM-
570A/570AL provides a "compatibility mode" that is intended for use in existing networks that
commingle operations of the CDM-570A/570AL and the CDM-570/L.
Use the option buttons top select CDM-570A Mode or CDM-570 Mode. Click [Submit] to
execute the selection.
Be sure to take the following operational conditions into consideration when using Compatibility
Mode operation:
1. Use of CDM-0570 Compatibility Mode is NOT required if the CDM-570A/570AL
is a component in a new or existing network that does NOT include CDM-
570/L modems.
2. Certain page functionality becomes disabled or inaccessible while the
modem is set to CDM-570 Compatibility Mode:
3. Certain feature options becomes disabled and unavailable while the modem
is set to CDM-570 Compatibility Mode.
4. Certain operational settings will reset to a default or fallback value when the
modem is set to CDM-570 Compatibility Mode. You must be sure to
reconfigure the modem to your previously configured settings.
5. Clocks section: If Internal plus output selected, resets to Internal.
