CDM-570A/570AL-IP 1:1 IP Redundancy Configuration
Do these steps:
1. First, you need to establish an Ethernet connection between the CDM-570A/570AL-IP
pair. You can do this by using a standard Ethernet Layer 2 Switch or Hub (it is
recommended that you use a Layer 2 Switch).
2. Before you can connect the CDM-570A/570AL-IP s to the CRS-XXX 1:1 switch, you
must first use the CLI to configure the following CDM-570A/570AL-IP Packet Processor
settings.
From the CLI Main Menu (the applicable "hot key" is shown in brackets [#]):
•
You must disable 1:1 Redundancy on both modems:
Administration [A] Redundancy Configuration [E] 1:1 Redundancy [R]
Toggle 1:1 Redundancy State as DISABLED;
•
You must set both modems to the same Working Mode;
Administration [A] Working Mode [C]
•
You must configure both modems with the same IP Option Features.
Administration [A] Feature Configuration [F]
3. On both modems, enter a unique IP Address that is on the same subnet:
Interface Configuration [I] Ethernet Interface [E] IP Address [I]
Verify that you can ping from one CDM-570A/570AL-IP to the other:
Operations and Maintenance [O] Diagnostics [G] Ping [P]
4. Enable 1:1 Redundancy on both modems:
Administration [A] Redundancy Configuration [E] 1:1 Redundancy [R]:
Toggle 1:1 Redundancy State as ENABLED.
Save Parameters to Permanent Storage [S] and power down both modems.
5. Connect the CDM-570A/570AL-IP to the1:1 switch:
•
See Sect. P.4 for cabling the CDM-570A-IP to the CRS-180;
•
See Sect. P.5 for cabling the CDM/R-570AL-IP to the CRS-170A.
