Installing Software for All Devices in an EX8200 Virtual Chassis

OS for EX Series Ethernet Switches, Release 10.4
We recommend that you use the procedure described in this topic to upgrade the software
for the EX8200 Virtual Chassis because this process ensures that all devices are upgraded
simultaneously.
You can use this procedure to upgrade the software on all devices in the EX8200 Virtual
Chassis, including all EX8200 member switches and both the master and backup external
Routing Engines.
To upgrade software for all devices in the EX8200 Virtual Chassis:
Download the software package for the XRE200 External Routing Engine (the software

package whose package name contains "xre200"—for instance,
jinstall-ex-xre200–10.4R1.8-domestic-signed.tgz
