Table 161: show virtual-chassis vc-port statistics Output Fields (continued)
Field Name
Field Description
Number of packets received on the VCP that were
Undersize packets
shorter than 64 octets (excluding framing bits but
including FCS octets) and were otherwise well
formed..
Number of packets received on the VCP that were
Jabber packets
longer than 1518 octets—excluding framing bits, but
including FCS octets—and that had either an FCS error
or an alignment error.
NOTE: This definition of jabber is different from the
definition in IEEE-802.3 section 8.2.1.5 (10Base5) and
section 10.3.1.4 (10Base2). These documents define
jabber as the condition in which any packet exceeds
20 ms. The allowed range to detect jabber is between
20 ms and 150 ms.
Number of packets received on the VCP that were
Fragments received
shorter than 64 octets (excluding framing bits, but
including FCS octets), and had either an FCS error or
an alignment error.
Fragment frames normally increment because both
runts (which are normal occurrences caused by
collisions) and noise hits are counted.
Number of outbound packets received on the VCP
Ifout errors
that could not be transmitted because of errors.
Number of outbound packets received on the VCP
Packet drop events
that were dropped, rather than being encapsulated
and sent out of the switch as fragments. The packet
drop counter is incremented if a temporary shortage
of packet memory causes packet fragmentation to
fail.
Number of packets received on the VCP (including
64 octets frames
invalid packets) that were 64 octets in length
(excluding framing bits, but including FCS octets).
Number of packets received on the VCP (including
65–127 octets frames
invalid packets) that were between 65 and 127 octets
in length, inclusive (excluding framing bits, but
including FCS octets).
128–255 octets
Number of packets received on the VCP (including
invalid packets) that were between 128 and 255 octets
frames
in length, inclusive (excluding framing bits, but
including FCS octets).
