Timing belt: Removal - Refitting

- the (Mot. 1430).
a Rotate the crankshaft twice in a clockwise direction
(timing end) before the camshaft pulley hub hole is
opposite the cylinder head hole.
a Screw tool (Mot. 1489) into the cylinder block.
a Turn the crankshaft clockwise (timing end) smoothly
until the crankshaft comes in to contact with the tool
(Mot. 1489).
a Set the camshaft pulley using the (Mot. 1430).
a If it is not possible to set the camshaft pulley, repeat
the timing belt refitting operation.
a Check that the timing tension wheel adjustable index
is correctly positioned in the middle of the timing win-
dow, otherwise repeat the timing belt tension opera-
tion.
a Refit the lower timing cover by positioning the lower
timing cover tab (30) in the inner cover opening (31)

a Clip on the lower timing cover.
1 - First timing cover assembly type
a Refit the lower timing cover bolt.

2 - Second timing cover assembly type
a Refit the intermediate timing cover.
a Clip on the intermediate timing cover.
a Refit the intermediate timing cover bolt.
3 - Both continued in the same way for refitting
a Refit the upper timing cover.
a Clip on the upper timing cover.
