ENGINE AND CYLINDER BLOCK ASSEMBLY
Engine - gearbox assembly: Removal - Refitting
M9R
- the blanking plugs from the power-assisted steer-
ing pipes and from the power-assisted steering
box.
a Fit the lower power-assisted steering pipe.
a Fit the lower power-assisted steering pipe into the
steering box.
a Refit:
- the power-assisted steering pipe bolt,
- the exhaust connecting hose seal,
- the exhaust connecting hose bolts.
a Refit the radiator mounting cross member (see Ra-
diator mounting cross member: Removal - Refit-
ting) (41A, Front lower structure).
a Remove the blanking plugs from the fuel pipes.
a Connect:
- the fuel supply pipe quick-release union to the fuel
filter,
- the fuel return pipe quick-release union to the tank
fuel return pipe,
- the heater matrix hoses,
- the fuel heater connector,
- the windscreen washer pump connector.
a Refit the earth cables on the side members (8
N.m).
a Fit:
- the supply unit wiring on the engine wiring mount-
ing,
- the computer wiring on the engine wiring mounting.
a Clip:
- the supply unit wiring on the engine wiring mount-
ing,
- the computer wiring on the engine wiring mounting.
M9R, and 805 or 809 or 845 or 849
a Connect the automatic transmission computer con-
nector.
a Clip:
- the automatic transmission control cable onto its
mounting,
- the automatic transmission control cable onto the
multifunction switch.
M9R, and 742 or 744 or 746 or 748 or 754 or 800
or 802 or 806 or 808 or 816
a Fit:
- the rigid clutch pipe,
- the gear control cables.
a Remove the blanking plugs from the rigid clutch pipe
and the clutch thrust bearing union.
a Connect the clutch rigid pipe to the clutch thrust
bearing.
a Clip:
- the rigid clutch pipe onto the gearbox,
- the gear selector cables onto their mounting,
- the gear control cables onto the gear selector ball
joints.
a Remove the tool (Ms. 583) from the clutch pipe.
a Bleed the clutch circuit (see Clutch circuit: Bleed)
(37A, Mechanical component controls).
a Connect the reversing sensor connector.
M9R, and 800 or 802 or 805 or 806 or 808 or 809
or 816 or 845 or 849
a Refit the electric coolant pump on the body.
a Connect the electric coolant pump connector.
a Refit:
- the fuse holders on the fuse holder plate,
- the fuse holder unit.
a Fit the fuse holder unit.
a Refit:
- a new hose clip onto the fuse holder plate wiring,
- the main supply fuses,
- the fuse holder unit clip,
- the fuse holder unit bolt.
a Refit:
- the cover of the fuse holder unit,
- the left-hand suspended engine mounting strut,
- the cooling assembly.
