Turbocharger: Removal - Refitting

a Disconnect:
- the exhaust gas pressure sensor connector,
- the exhaust gas temperature sensor connector .
Note:
Apply SUPER RELEASING AGENT (see Vehi-
cle: Parts and consumables for the repair)
(04B, Consumables - Products) to the turbo-
charger studs to prevent the studs from breaking
when the nuts are undone.
a Remove:
- the turbocharger nuts (17) ,
- the turbocharger washers,
- the turbocharger,
- the seals between the turbocharger and the front
and back exhaust manifolds,
- the turbocharger studs.

If replacing the turbocharger
a Remove:
- the turbocharger coolant pipe (18) (see Turbo-
charger coolant pipe: Removal - Refitting) ,
- the connector support bolts (19) ,
- the exhaust gas temperature sensor (20) (see
19B, Exhaust, Exhaust gas temperature sen-
sor: Removal - Refitting, page 19B-85) ,
- the exhaust gas pressure sensor (21) (see 19B,
Exhaust, Exhaust gas pressure sensor: Re-
moval - Refitting, page 19B-93) ,
- the turbocharger upper oil pipe (see 12B, Turbo-
charging, Turbocharger oil pipe: Removal - Re-
fitting, page 12B-35) .
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a parts always to be replaced: exhaust gas cooler
seal (11,07,01,17).
a parts always to be replaced: Turbocharger nut
(10,09,01,03).
a parts always to be replaced: seal between ex-
haust manifold and turbocharger (10,09,01,07).
a Always replace:
- the turbocharger studs,
- the clips between the turbocharger and the exhaust
manifolds,
