Exhaust manifold: Removal - Refitting

When replacing the exhaust manifold
a Remove:
- the lower heat shield bolts (7) ,
- the lower heat shield,
- the upstream oxygen sensor using the (Mot. 1495-
01).
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a Use SURFACE CLEANER (see Vehicle: Parts
and consumables for the repair) (04B, Consuma-
bles - Products) to clean and degrease:
- the exhaust manifold joint face if it is to be re-used,
- the cylinder head joint face.
FUEL MIXTURE

a Always replace:
- the ring (8) between the exhaust manifold and the
catalytic converter,
- the exhaust manifold gasket.
Note:
If a stud comes loose during removal, smear it
with HIGH RESISTANCE THREADLOCK (see
Vehicle: Parts and consumables for the
repair) (04B, Consumables - Products).
a Torque tighten the exhaust manifold studs (9 Nm).
