Turbocharger: Removal - Refitting
M9R, and 800 or 802 or 805 or 806 or 808 or 809 or 816 or 845 or 849
a Clamp the turbocharger cooling pipe hoses (6) using
the tool (Ms. 583).
a Move the clips (7) on the turbocharger cooling hoses
to one side, using the tool (Mot. 1448).
a Disconnect the turbocharger cooling hoses.
a Remove:
- the lower engine tie-bar (see 19D, Engine mount-
ing, Lower engine tie-bar: Removal - Refitting,
page 19D-85) ,
- the catalytic pre-converter (see 19B, Exhaust,
Catalytic pre-converter: Removal - Refitting,
page 19B-22) ,
- the turbocharger oil pipes (see 12B, Turbocharg-
ing, Turbocharger oil pipe: Removal - Refitting,
page 12B-35) .

II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART

a
Note:
Apply SUPER RELEASING AGENT (see Vehi-
cle: Parts and consumables for the repair)
(04B, Consumables - Products) to the turbo-
charger studs to prevent the studs from breaking
when the nuts are undone.
a Remove:
- the turbocharger lower nuts (8) on the exhaust
manifold,
- the upper nut (9) from the turbocharger on the ex-
haust manifold,
- the transversal bolt (10) from the turbocharger,
a Undo the strut bolt (11) .
a Remove:
- the turbocharger from underneath the vehicle.
- the turbocharger seal.
