Exhaust manifold: Removal - Refitting
M9R, and 742 or 744 or 746 or 748 or 754
- the exhaust manifold nuts,
- the exhaust manifold gasket,
- the exhaust gas recirculation rigid pipe seals,
- the EGR rigid pipe bolts.
a Refit the exhaust manifold studs using a roller-type
stud removal tool.
a Tighten the exhaust manifold studs using a roller-
type stud removal tool.
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a Refit:
- a new exhaust manifold seal,
- the exhaust manifold,
- new exhaust manifold nuts.
a Pretighten to torque and in order the exhaust mani-
fold nuts (initial torque) (18 N.m).
a Torque tighten in order the exhaust manifold nuts
(30 N.m).
III - FINAL OPERATION
a Refit new seals for the exhaust gas recirculation rig-
id pipe.
a Fit the exhaust gas recirculation rigid pipe.
FUEL MIXTURE

a Refit the new rigid exhaust gas recirculation pipe
bolts.
a Fit without tightening:
- the new rigid EGR pipe bolts (1) and (2) ,
- the new rigid EGR pipe bolts (3) and (4) ,
- the bolts (5) from the exhaust gas recirculation rigid
pipe.
a Tighten the rigid exhaust gas recirculation pipe bolts
in order.
a Position the heat shield for the exhaust gas recircu-
lation rigid pipe.
