Rear exhaust manifold: Removal - Refitting

IMPORTANT
Wear protective gloves during the operation.
REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
a Position the vehicle on a two-post lift (see Vehicle:
Towing and lifting) (02A, Lifting equipment).
a Disconnect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Re-
fitting) (80A, Battery).
a Drain the refrigerant circuit using a refrigerant
charging station (see Refrigerant circuit: Drain-
ing - Filling) (62A, Air conditioning).
a Remove:
- the engine cover,
- the engine undertray bolts,
- the engine undertray,
- the front catalytic pre-converter (see Front catalyt-
ic pre-converter: Removal - Refitting) ,
- the front right-hand wheel (see Wheel: Removal -
Refitting) (35A, Wheels and tyres),
- the front right-hand driveshaft (see Front right-
hand driveshaft: Removal - Refitting) (29A,
Driveshafts),
- the inlet manifold (see 12A, Fuel mixture, Inlet
distributor: Removal - Refitting, page 12A-75) ,
- the rear catalytic pre-converter (see Rear catalytic
pre-converter: Removal - Refitting) .
FUEL MIXTURE
15 N.m
31 N.m

a Disconnect the rear row upstream oxygen sensor
connector (1) .
a Unclip the rear row upstream oxygen sensor from its
support.
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
a Remove:
- the nuts (2) from the rear exhaust manifold,
- the rear exhaust manifold,
- the rear exhaust manifold gasket .
