Manual priming pump: Removal - Refitting

a Cut the pipe at the mark (X) , this mark is located
100 mm before the offset of the manual priming
pump (see Fuel pipes: Repair) (Technical Note
3969A, Repairing plastic fuel pipes).
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a Always replace:
- the manual priming pump.
WARNING
Do not remove the blanking plugs from each
component until the last moment.
Also, do not remove the components from their
packaging until they are to be fitted to the vehi-
cle.
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a Cut the pipe of the new manual priming pump at the
same level as the previous cut (see Fuel pipes: Re-
pair) (Technical Note 3969A, Repairing plastic fuel
pipes).
a Refit a new manual priming pump.
a Fit a union to the new manual priming pump pipe.
a Remove the blanking plugs from the fuel unions.
FUEL SUPPLY

a Connect the fuel inlet union to the electric diesel fuel
heater.
III - FINAL OPERATION
a Refit:
- the expansion bottle (see 19A, Cooling, Expan-
sion bottle: Removal - Refitting, page 19A-152) ,
- the engine undertray.
a Fill and bleed the cooling system (see 19A, Cool-
ing, Cooling system: Draining - Refilling, page
19A-16) .
a Connect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Refit-
ting) (80A, Battery).
a Refit the engine cover.
