ENGINE AND CYLINDER BLOCK ASSEMBLY
Crankshaft seal, gearbox end: Removal - Refitting

a Apply a bead of SILICONE ADHESIVE SEALANT
(see Vehicle: Parts and consumables for the re-
pair) (04B, Consumables - Products) with a width of
2.5 to 3.5 mm on the crankshaft seal support on the
gearbox side.
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a Refit a new "crankshaft seal support on the gearbox
side - crankshaft seal on the gearbox side" assem-
bly.
a Torque tighten the bolts of the "crankshaft seal
support on the gearbox side - crankshaft seal on
the gearbox side" assembly (9 N.m).
III - FINAL OPERATION
a Refit:
- the cylinder block base plate (see Cylinder block
base plate: Removal - Refitting) ,
- the drive plate (see 10A, Engine and cylinder
block assembly, Drive plate: Removal - Refit-
ting, page 10A-287) ,
- the oil level sensor (see 10A, Engine and cylinder
block assembly, Oil level sensor: Removal - Re-
fitting, page 10A-237) ,
- the sump (see 10A, Engine and cylinder block
assembly, Lower cover: Removal - Refitting,
page 10A-180) ,
- the accessories belt of the air conditioning com-

pressor (see 11A, Top and front of engine, Ac-
cessories belt: Removal - Refitting, page 11A-
13) .
a Remove the engine from the component support
(see Engine support equipment: Use) .
a Couple the gearbox to the engine (see Automatic
gearbox: Removal - Refitting) (23A, Automatic
transmission).
a Remove the lifting eye on the timing end (see 11A,
Top and front of engine, Lifting eyes: Removal -
Refitting, page 11A-318) .
a Refit:
- the engine and gearbox assembly (see 10A, En-
gine and cylinder block assembly, Engine -
gearbox assembly: Removal - Refitting, page
10A-1) ,
- the left-hand suspended engine mounting rubber
pad central nut,
- the right-hand suspended engine mounting (see
19D, Engine mounting, Right-hand suspended
engine mounting: Removal - Refitting, page
19D-51) .
a Torque tighten the central nut of the left-hand sus-
pended engine mounting rubber pad (62 N.m).
a Remove the tool (Mot. 1390) from the "engine -
gearbox" assembly.
a Refit:

- the front and rear catalytic pre-converters (see

ting) and (see Rear catalytic pre-converter: Re-
moval - Refitting) ,
