TOP AND FRONT OF ENGINE
Accessories belt: Removal - Refitting

a Tighten the power-assisted steering accessories
belt by loosening the belt tensioning bolt (7) .
a Adjust the tension of the power-assisted steering ac-
cessories belt using the tool (Mot. 1715) by fitting
the tool at (A) .
The power-assisted steering belt tension must be
between 219 and 243 Hz.
a Refit the tensioner bolt (8) .
a Torque tighten the tensioner bolt (28 N.m).
2 - Alternator and air conditioning compressor
accessories belt
a Refit a new automatic tensioner.
a Torque tighten the automatic tensioner bolts (22
N.m).
a Turn the new accessories belt automatic tensioner
anti-clockwise using a 14 mm offset wrench.
a Lock the auto tensioner using a 6 mm Allen key.
a Refit a new accessories belt.
a Gradually release the tensioning roller using a 14
mm offset wrench and remove the 6 mm Allen key.
III - FINAL OPERATION
a Turn the crankshaft twice.
1 - Power-assisted steering belt
a Refit:
- the front right-hand wheel arch liner (see Front
wheel arch liner: Removal - Refitting) (55A, Ex-
terior protection),
- the front right-hand wheel (see Wheel: Removal -
Refitting) (35A, Wheels and tyres),
- the engine undertray.
2 - Alternator and air conditioning compressor
accessories belt
a Fit the coolant pipe.
a Refit the coolant pipe mountings.
a Torque tighten the coolant pipe mountings (17
N.m).
a Connect the connector to the oil level sensor.
a Refit:

- the front right-hand wheel arch liner (see Front
wheel arch liner: Removal - Refitting) (55A, Ex-
terior protection),
- the front right-hand wheel (see Wheel: Removal -
Refitting) (35A, Wheels and tyres),
- the engine undertray.
