Rocker cover: Removal - Refitting

- the rocker covers on the front and rear rows.
REFITTING
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
a
Note:
The rocker cover is sealed by a composite seal
that can withstand being removed and refitted a
number of times. If the seal is damaged, it may
be partially repaired with RESIN ADHESIVE
(see Vehicle: Parts and consumables for the
repair) (04B, Consumables - Products).
WARNING
The joint faces must be clean, dry and free from
grease (avoid finger marks).
WARNING
Applying excess sealant could cause it to be
squeezed out when parts are tightened. A mix-
ture of sealant and fluid could damage certain
components (engine, radiator, etc.)
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a Refit the rocker covers on the front and back rows.
a Pretighten to torque and in order the rocker cover
bolts (initial torque) (2 N.m).
a Tighten to torque and in order the rocker cover
bolts (tightening torque) (8 N.m).
III - FINAL OPERATION
a Refit the fuel pipe support.
a Connect:
- the camshaft position sensor connector,
- the fuel supply union,
- the oil vapour rebreathing pipe on the rocker cov-
ers.
a Clip:
- the fuel pipes,
- the electrical wiring on the rocker cover,
a Refit:
- the ignition coils (see 17A, Ignition, Coils: Re-
moval - Refitting, page 17A-1) ,
