Mot. 1489 TDC locating pin.
Mot. 1496 Camshaft timing tool.
Mot. 1750 Additional tool to support the
camshaft adjusting tool, Mot.

Mot. 1487 Tool for refitting camshaft cov-
ers (57 mm diameter).
Mot. 1488 Tool for refitting camshaft cov-
ers (43 mm diameter).
Tightening torquesm

shaft accessories pulley
TDC setting pin plug
IMPORTANT
Wear protective gloves during the operation.
WARNING
Do not run the engine without the accessories belt
to avoid damaging the crankshaft accessories pul-
ley.
REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
a Position the vehicle on a two-post lift (see Vehicle:
Towing and lifting) (02A, Lifting equipment).
a Remove:
- the engine cover,
- the air filter box (see 12A, Fuel mixture, Air filter
unit: Removal - Refitting, page 12A-13) ,
- the throttle valve (see 12A, Fuel mixture, Throttle
valve: Removal - Refitting, page 12A-49) ,
- the front right-hand wheel (see Wheel: Removal -
Refitting) (35A, Wheels and tyres),
- the front right-hand wheel arch liner (see Front
wheel arch liner: Removal - Refitting) (55A, Ex-
terior protection),
40 N.m + 115˚
± ± ± ± 10˚
20 N.m
a Unclip the heater matrix hose from the lifting eye.
a Unclip:
a Move the engine wiringaside.

- the engine undertray bolts,
- the engine undertray.
- the accessories belt (see 11A, Top and front of
engine, Accessories belt: Removal - Refitting,
page 11A-13) ,
- the gearbox breather pipe from the lifting eye,
- the engine wiring connector (1) from the lifting eye.
