Crankshaft seal, gearbox end: Removal - Refitting

II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART

a
Note:
T ouching the lip of the seal is strictly forbidden.
Any contact with it will result in the lip being per-
manently damaged, which will cause an oil leak.
a Fit:
- the new « seal protector - seal - cover » assembly
(2) on the crankshaft,
- the bolts (3) (M6 - 90 mm long) to guide the crank-
shaft "seal - cover" assembly.
a Move the "seal - cover" assembly evenly (4) by hand
until it makes contact with the cylinder block.
a Remove:
135729
- the seal protector (5) ,
- the guide bolts .
a Pretighten to torque and in order the crankshaft
cover bolts (initial torque) (5 Nm).
a Torque tighten in order the crankshaft cover bolts
(12 N.m).
