6.2.22.1 Service Conditions
(1) This service is available for DT700 Series equipped with firmware version 4.0.0.0 or later.
For DT730G, available for firmware version 1.0.0.0 or later.
Note:
(2) To use the Spare IP/Backup IP function, DHCP Mode needs to be enabled.
(3) IP address (ACT) of the Telephony Server needs to be assigned to DT700 Series.
(4) Spare IP and Backup IP shares a substitute IP address information in the Configuration Settings. Even if
the substitute IP address mode has been changed, DT700 Series maintains the substitute IP address infor-
mation such as IP address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, DNS Server Address, 2nd - 4th Server Address,
and 2nd - 4th Server Port.
(5) Even when the substitute IP address mode is Backup IP address, you can set the information above by Con-
figuration Setting manually, but the information will be overwritten when DT700 Series obtains the new
information from the DHCP server again.
(6) When DT700 Series uses the substitute IP address, DT700 Series attempts to connect to the 2nd Server
without connecting to the 1st Server. When the 2nd Server does not answer or an error occurs, DT700 Se-
ries attempts to connect to the next server. DT700 Series keeps using the substitute IP address without ob-
taining an IP address from the DHCP server.
(7) When DT700 Series fails to connect to all of the 2nd - 4th servers, an error occurs. Then DT700 Series
performs retry to obtain an IP address from the DHCP server. If DT700 Series obtains an IP address suc-
cessfully, DT700 Series attempts to connect to the 1st server without using the substitute IP address.
(8) DT700 Series uses the following Configuration data when the substitute IP address is in service. DT700
Series determines the setting data kind on a group basis. When the setting data is included to the same
group, the same setting data kind, Configuration (substitute) or Configuration, will be used.
