7.4 Fault
Code
Name
FbH
Excessive PID Feedback
Note:
• The drive detects this fault if the PID feedback input is more than the level set in b5-36 for longer than b5-37.
• Do a Fault Reset to clear the fault.
• If the drive detects this fault, it will operate the motor as specified by the stop method set in b5-12 [Feedback Loss Detection Select].
Code
Name
FbL
PID Feedback Loss
Note:
• The drive detects this fault if the PID feedback input is more than the level set in b5-13 for longer than b5-14.
• Do a Fault Reset to clear the fault.
• If the drive detects this fault, it will operate the motor as specified by the stop method set in b5-12 [Feedback Loss Detection Select].
Code
Name
GF
Ground Fault
Note:
• The drive detects this fault if a current short to ground was more than 50% of rated current on the output side of the drive.
• Do a Fault Reset to clear the fault.
• L5-08 [Fault Reset Enable Select Grp2] disables the Auto Restart function.
Code
Name
HLCE
High Level Communication Errors
Code
Name
LF
Output Phase Loss
Note:
• The drive detects this fault if phase loss occurs on the output side of the drive.
• Do a Fault Reset to clear the fault.
• Set L8-07 [Output Phase Loss Protection Sel] to enable and disable LF detection.

Causes
The FbH detection level is set incorrectly.
There is a problem with the PID feedback wiring.
The feedback sensor is not operating correctly.
A fault occurred in the feedback input circuit of the
drive.
Causes
The FbL detection level is set incorrectly.
There is a problem with the PID feedback wiring.
The feedback sensor is not operating correctly.
A fault occurred in the feedback input circuit of the
drive.
Causes
Overheating caused damage to the motor or the
motor insulation is not satisfactory.
The motor main circuit cable is contacting ground
to make a short circuit.
An increase in the stray capacitance of the cable and
the ground terminal caused an increase in the
leakage current.
There was a problem with the drive hardware.
Causes
Communication data error occurred between the
option and the master drive when you use Gateway
function.
The master drive detects oFxxx and the slave drive
detects HLCE.
Causes
The motor main circuit cable is disconnected.
There is a disconnection in the motor coil winding.
The screws on the drive output terminals are loose.
The rated output current of the motor is less than
5% of the drive rated current.
You are trying to use a single-phase motor.
The output transistor in the drive is damaged.
Possible Solutions
Adjust b5-36 [PID High Feedback Detection Lvl] and b5-37 [PID
High Feedback Detection Time].
Correct errors with the PID control wiring.
Examine the sensors on the control device side.
Replace the control board or the drive. For information about
replacing the control board, contact Yaskawa or your nearest sales
representative.
Possible Solutions
Adjust b5-13 [PID Feedback Loss Detection Lvl] and b5-14 [PID
Feedback Loss Detection Time].
Correct errors with the PID control wiring.
Examine the sensors on the control device side.
Replace the control board or the drive. For information about
replacing the control board, contact Yaskawa or your nearest sales
representative.
Possible Solutions
Measure the motor insulation resistance, and replace the motor if
there is electrical conduction or unserviceable insulation.
• Examine the motor main circuit cable for damage, and repair
short circuits.
• Measure the resistance between the motor main circuit cable
and the ground terminal. If there is electrical conduction,
replace the cable.
• If the wiring length of the cable is more than 100 m, decrease
the carrier frequency.
• Decrease the stray capacitance.
Replace the control board or the drive. For information about
replacing the control board, contact Yaskawa or your nearest sales
representative.
Possible Solutions
Examine the wiring between the option and the master drive and
remove the cause of the fault.
Possible Solutions
Connect motor main circuit cable wiring. Correct wiring errors in
the main circuit drive input power.
If a coil is disconnected, measure the motor Line-to-Line
Resistance and replace the motor.
Tighten the terminal screws to the correct tightening torque.
Examine the drive capacity or the motor output to be applied.
The drive cannot operate a single-phase motor.
• Re-energize the drive.
• If the fault stays, replace the control board or the drive. For
information about replacing the control board, contact
Yaskawa or your nearest sales representative.
