Operation procedure for "Paper Separation Fan Level Adjustment"
a) Multiple feeding of 128gsm of A3 thick coated paper in high temperature/ high humidity
environment
In high temperature/ high humidity environment, paper tends to be sticked each other,
possibly resulting in multiple feeding.
1) Refer to "Table of airflow level by paper types". Based on the condition (high temperature/
high humidity environment, 128gsm of A3 thick coated paper) in which the symptom
occurs, check the airflow level parameter (default value of "Paper Separation Fan Level
Adjustment").
In this case, "Table of airflow level by paper types" shows that the default value of
the airflow level parameter is "17" and is equivalent to "6", the default value of "Paper
Separation Fan Level Adjustment".
2) The separation air level has reached to the strongest "7". The separation air level cannot
be decreased when multiple feeding in which paper tends to stick each other occurs. Thus,
increasing the floatation air level to "20" (The default value "6" of "Paper Separation Fan
Level Adjustment" is increased to "9" by adding +3.) has improved the symptom while the
separation air level is unchanged.

b) Corner bend of 60gsm A4 thin paper in normal temperature / low humidity environment
Lower curled paper tends to make much wider space between paper because of separation
air, and the paper edge tends to hang downward.
Consequently, the corner bend may hit the guide, leading to the symptom.
1) The cause is that the paper edge tends to hang downward due to paper cur. Thus, lower
the level of separation air and set the paper upside down. Setting the paper upside down
improves corner bend.
2) Refer to "Table of airflow level by paper types". Based on the condition (normal
temperature/ low humidity environment, 60g of A4 noncoated thin paper) in which the
symptom occurs, check the airflow level parameter (default value of "Paper Separation Fan
Level Adjustment").
In this case, the default value of the fan level parameter is "3" and is equivalent to "6", the
adjustment value of "Paper Separation Fan Level Adjustment".
3) In this case, the floatation air level is not changed. Decreasing the separation air level to
"1" (The default value "6" of "Paper Separation Fan Level Adjustment" is decreased to "4"
by taking away 2.) has improved the symptom.
