push the cover downward until clips are locked
in
place.

Release the latch handle to lock the cover in
place.
Removal IAR and AV Models)
(1)
Remove the mylar locking strip cap (Fig.
153)
covering the ends of locking strip.
(2)
Using a wedge shaped fibre tool, remove the
mylar locking strip from the weatherstrip.
(3)
Loosen the weatherstrip from the quarter win-
dow, using a wedge shaped fibre tool, and with an as-
sistant, remove the quarter window.
Installation
(1) Remove all old sealer
and
cement from the
quarter window fence and from the original weather-
strip if
it is
to be reinstalled.
(2)
Apply sealer to the fence groove in the weath-
erstrip and position the weatherstrip on the fence.
(3)
Position the glass on the weatherstrip and using
a fibre tool, seat the glass in the weatherstrip.
(4)
Apply sealer to the area between the glass and
the weatherstrip.
(5)
Using Tool
C-3840,
install the locking strip,
starting at the lower rear corner.
(6) Make certain the locking strip is fully seated and
install the cap, two for Valiant models, over the ends
of the locking strip.
(7)
Using mineral spirits, remove all excess sealer
or cement.
