The removal and installation procedures for the
hardtop models are the same as those used on the
sedan models.
Removal fAV Models) (Except AVP29)
(1) Remove the rear seat cushion and back.
(2)
Remove the regulator handle, trim panel and
water shield.
(3) With the glass lowered two-thirds of the way,
remove the screw and washer from the hinge assem-
bly.
(4)
Lower the glass fully and remove the spring nut
and washer attaching the regulator stud
to
the glass
lower channel.
(5)
Remove the regulator stud from the glass lower
channel.
(6) Remove the glass and lower channel assembly.
Instcrllation
(1)
Position the glass into the quarter panel.
(2)
With the regulator in the down position, insert
the regulator arm stud into the glass lower channel
and install the washer and spring nut.
(3) Raise the glass one-third and install the hinge
to the glass lower channel.
(4)
Test the operation and alignment of the quarter
glass.
(5)
Install the water shield, trim panel, regulator
handle and rear seat assembly.
Removal fAVP29 Models)
(1) Remove the rear seat back, cushion, quarter
window regulator handle, trim panel and watershield.
(2)
Remove the screw, washer, grommet and spac-
er attaching the glass to the frame at the front at-
tachment (Fig. 117) through the major access opening
in the quarter panel.

(3) Remove the screw, washer, grommet and spac-
er attaching the glass to the frame at the rear attach-
ment through the access opening at the top rear por-
tion of the inner panel.
(4)
Remove the glass from the quarter panel.
Installation
(1)
Apply lubricant to the sliding surfaces of the
quarter window glass lower frame.
(2)
Assemble the grommets and spacers to the
screw and washer assemblies.
(3) Run the regulator up until the glass lower frame
is aligned with the access opening at the top rear
section of the inner panel.
(4)
Position the glass into the quarter panel and in-
stall one screw and washer, spacer and grommet
through the glass and into the lower glass frame.
(5)
Lower the glass and frame and install the screw
and washer, spacer and grommet into the glass
front attaching hole and into the lower frame.
(6) Test the operation of the glass and inspect
the alignment.
(7)
Install the water shield, trim panel, regulator
handle, rear seat back and cushion assembly.
Regulator Assembly
fAP Models)
The regulator assembly (Fig. 118) is attached to the
door inner panel with screw and washer assemblies.
The regulator arm studs are retained in the glass low-
er frame rollers with spring nuts (Fig. 116). Lubricate
the regulator tooth contact area approximately
V 2
inch wide along the entire length of the arc on the
outboard side of the sector and to the front and rear
arm roller studs.
Removal fAR Models)
(1)
Remove the seat cushion, seat back, arm rest,
handles and escutcheon, trim panel and water shield.
(2)
Prop the window in the up position.
