HEATER-ACCESSORIES
SERVICE PROCEDURES
HEATER BLOWER
Removal
(1) Disconnect the battery ground cable.
(2) Disconnect the heater ground wire.
(3) Loosen the fresh air intake duct clamp (at the
blower end) and remove the duct from the blower as-
sembly.
(4)
Remove the screw attaching the blower to the
plenum.
(5) Remove the heater blower assembly from the
heater housing.
(6)
From inside the heater housing, disconnect the
blower assembly wires.

(1) Connect the heater blower wires to their con-
nectors inside the heater housing.
(2) Position the blower assembly in the rubber
grommet in the heater housing with the blower mount-
ing bracket positioned against the plenum bracket and
install the mounting bracket screw.
(3) Install the fresh air duct on the heater blower
assembly and tighten the clamp.
(4)
Connect the heater ground wire.
(5) Connect the battery ground cable.
(6) Test the operation of the heater blower.
(1)
To remove, disconnect the vacuum hoses.
(2)
Remove the two nuts and lockwashers attach-
ing the vacuum unit to the housing, and the one clip
attaching the vacuum unit rod to the actuated unit.

(1)
Disconnect the battery ground cable,
(2) Drain the cooling system.
(3) Disconnect the heater hoses at the heater.

Remove the fresh air intake duct from the blow-

Remove the blower to plenum bracket screw.
(6) Disconnect the actuator lines.
(7) Disconnect the heater wire receptacle from

Disconnect the heater ground wire.
(9) Remove the control lever cable from the heater
control valve.
(10) Remove the defroster tubes from the heater
housing.
(11) From the engine compartment remove the
three nuts and washers attaching the heater assembly
to the dash panel.

Remove the heater to dash panel attaching
screws.
(13) Remove the heater assembly.
(14)
Remove the heater control valve screws and
er assembly.
