MAINTENANCE
BRAKE SYSTEM
INSPECTION
Firmly apply the brake lever or pedal, and check that
no air has entered the system.
If the lever or pedal feels soft or spongy when oper­
ated, bleed the air from the system.
Inspect the brake hose and fittings for deterioration.
cracks and signs of leakage.
Tighten any loose fittings.
Replace hoses and fittings as required.
Refer the procedure for brake bleeding:

BRAKE LEVER ADJUSTMENT

BRAKEPEDALHE�HT ADJUSTMENT
Loosen the lock nut and turn the master cylinder
push rod to obtain the desired pedal height.
After adjustment, hold the adjusting bolt and
tighten the lock nut.
TORQUE: 17 N-m (1.7 kgf-m, 13 lbf-ft)
If the brake pedal is adjusted to the lower position,
make sure that the clearance between the lower end
of the push rod and the brake pedal does not fall
below 1 mm (0.04 in).
If the brake pedal is adjusted to the higher position,
make sure that the lower end of the push rod thread
is visible inside the joint.
