DTC 8-2 (TP SENSOR HIGH VOLTAGE)
• Before starting the inspection, checlc for loose or
poor contact on the TP sensor 3P (Black) connec
tor and ECM 33P connectors. then recheck the
OTC.
1. TP Sensor System Inspection
Turn the ignition switch ON and engine stop

Check the TP sensor with the HOS pocket tester.
Is about 5 Vindicated?
- GO TO STEP 3.
YES
NO
- GO TO STEP 2.
2. TP Sensor Inspection
Check the TP sensor voltage is increasing unin
terrupted when moving the throttle from fully
closed to fully opened using the data list menu
of the HOS pocket tester.
Does the voltage Increase continuously?
YES
- Intermittent failure
- Faulty TP sensor
NO
3. TP Sensor Resistance Inspection
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the TP sensor 3P (Black) connector.
Measure the resistance at the TP sensor side.

4. TP Sensor Input Voltage Inspection
Turn the ignition switch ON and engine stop

Measure the voltage at the wire harness side.
CONNECTION: Yellow/red (+) - Green/orange H
Is the voltage within 4.75
YES
- Replace the ECM with a known good
one, and recheck; refer to Key Registra
tion Procedures (page 21-6)

- Open circuit in Green/orange wire
