VoiceFinder AP200 VoIP Residential Gateway (RGW) User's Guide Version 1.1
4.15.

Auto-Upgrade

When the software (firmware) of AP200 VoIP gateway is upgraded or changed, auto-upgrade
feature reduces the time-consuming point-to-point S/W upgrading JOB via human being at
remote side or local site. The point-to-point S/W upgrading at remote side is impossible
practically if the deployed VoIP equipment number is large. This means the maintenance cost
will be reduced if automatic S/W feature without human being intervene is available.
Generally, when the VoIP gateways are deployed at customer sites via VoIP service provider,
VoIP service provider needs a lot of cost for VoIP equipment H/W and S/W maintenance.
Among these maintenance cost, S/W upgrading cost is mostly charged.
