73A Tray 3 Out of Paper RAP
Use this RAP when the copier display instructs the operator to add paper to tray 3 when the
tray is not empty.
Initial Actions
Ensure that the electricity to the machine is switched off while performing tasks that do
not need electricity. Refer to
GP
14. Disconnect the power cord. Electricity can cause
death or injury. Moving parts can cause injury.
Check the position of the tray empty sensor,
Clean the tray empty sensor.
Procedure
Enter

code 73-201 tray 3 empty sensor,
Use a piece of paper to manually actuate the tray empty sensor with a piece of paper. The
display changes.

The fault may be intermittent. Perform the following:
Check that the base plate in tray 3 is located correctly.
Check that PJ958 harness is connected correctly and not damaged. Refer to
Tray 3 Paper Feed Assembly. Repair the wiring as necessary,

Initial Actions
