6.4 Scheduled technical maintenance operations

6.4.1 Technical maintenance on a shift basis every 8-10 hours of operation or
every shift
6.4.1.1 General instructions
Every 8-10 hours of tractor operation or at the end of a shift (whichever comes first)
perform the following operations:
6.4.1.2 Operation 1. Check of oil level in the engine crankcase
Check oil level after putting the tractor on a flat surface and not earlier than 3-5 min
after the engine is switched off, when the oil completely flows down to the crankcase.:
To check oil level in the engine crankcase, do the following:
- take dipstick 3 out (Figure 6.4.1), wipe it clean and then put it back against the
stop;
- take dipstick 3 out and define the oil level. The oil level shall stay between the up-
per and lower marks of the dipstick. If required, top up the oil through neck 1 after remov-
ing cap 2.
- put cap 2 back.

ATTENTION: DO NOT RUN THE ENGINE WITH THE OIL LEVEL BELOW THE
LOWER MARK ON THE DIPSTICK!
ATTENTION: DO NOT TOP OIL ABOVE THE UPPER MARK OF THE DIPSTICK.
THE OIL WILL BURN OUT CREATING WRONG IMPRESSION OF LARGE OIL CON-
SUMPTION!
ATTENTION: BE CAREFUL TO AVOID CONTACT WITH HOT OIL!
6.4.1.3 Operation 2. Check of coolant level in the engine cooling system
Check coolant level in the engine cooling system by the fullness of expansion tank 3
(Figure 6.4.2). To reach expansion tank 3, open the hood as indicated in subsection
6.2 "Providing access to tractor components for technical maintenance". The coolant quan-
tity in the expansion tank shall stay at the level ranging from 20...30 mm from the expan-
sion tank bottom to the upper edge of clamp 2 fastening the expansion tank. If the coolant
level is lower than 20...30 mm from the expansion tank bottom, then open plug 4 of ex-
pansion tank and top up coolant to the upper edge of the clamp 2 fastening the expansion
tank.
