7.8 Possible failures of front driving axle
A list of possible failures of the front driving axle and instructions for their trouble-
shooting are given in Table 7.8.1.

Replace the free travel clutch
Remove the clutch and rinse the clutch parts
Remove the clutch and rinse the clutch parts
Adjust the clutch for transmission of 400 to 800
Nꞏm torque by tightening the flange nut from the
side of transfer box
Replace the disks
Replace the springs
Adjust the length of transfer box rod
To prevent faults, maintain the air pressure in front
and rear tyres according to the recommended
rates
adjustment of Adjust the wheels' toe-in
Do the following:
- check the operation of FDA forced engagement,
eliminate the fault;
- adjust the control mechanism of the transfer box
Adjust preload in bearings of driving gear of master
drive
Check and, if necessary, adjust the mesh accord-
ing the contact patch
