4.4 Tractor final assembly and run-in

4.4.1 Tractor final assembly

After purchasing the tractor BELARUS -80.1/82.1/820, the dealer (customer) has to
install a muffler on the tractor, and depending on the type of work to be performed, set the
crossbar and rear ends of lower links to the working position. For tractors with a canopy
frame, install the canopy according to section 3.19.5 "Mounting of canopy on the base (on
the basis of universal cabin)" or section 3.19.7 "Mounting of canopy on the base (on the
basis of a small cabin)."

4.4.2 Technical maintenance before tractor run-in

Before placing a new tractor in operation do the following:
- wash the tractor, remove grease (if there is any on the tractor);
- inspect the tractor carefully, check it for completeness and availability of instruction
manuals;
- remove accumulator batteries, set them into working condition and mount back;
- check outer threaded joints for tightness and tighten more, if necessary;
- check oil level in the engine oil crankcase, in the transmission, in FDA body, in-
termediate support of FDA cardan shaft, bodies of FDA wheel gear groups (on tractors
with FDA 72-2300020-А-04 or 72-2300020-А in upper and lower bevel gear pairs of FDA
wheel gear groups), combined oil tank of HLL and HSC, hydraulic booster body (on trac-
tors equipped with HPS instead of HSC), air cleaner sump and, if necessary top up ac-
cording to section 6 "Technical maintenance";
- drain the available fuel from the fuel tanks and fill the fuel tank with new settled
fuel: in winter – winter grade, in summer – summer grade;
- fill the engine cooling system with coolant;
- check and if necessary, adjust the tyre pressure to a required rate in accordance
with Table 4.2.2;
- make sure protective guard shields (for shaft end extensions of rear PTO, side
PTO, etc.) are available;
- check engine operation, operability of lighting and warning devices, action of
brakes and steering control, as well as functioning of the other systems and units of the
tractor over on-board control gauges;
Before starting to run in, check tightness of hub-retaining bolts (the tightening torque
for bolts of rear wheel terminal hubs shall make from 300 to 400 Nꞏm, the tightening torque
for bolts of rear wheel bevel hubs shall make from 360 to 450 Nꞏm), tightness of the nuts
attaching rear wheels to the hub (the tightening torque shall make 300 to 350 Nꞏm), the
nuts attaching front wheel plates to FDA wheel gear group flanges or to front axle hubs
(the tightening torque shall make 200 to 250 Nꞏm); on tractors with FDA ПВМ 822-
2300020-02/04 and wheels with variable plate offset, check the tightening of nuts attaching
front wheel plates to rim brackets (the tightening torque shall make 180 to 240 Nꞏm).

4.4.3 Tractor run-in

ATTENTION: THE FIRST 30 HOURS OF TRACTOR OPERATION HAVE GREAT
INFLUENCE ON OPERATIONAL PARAMETERS AND LIFE SPAN OF THE TRACTOR.
YOUR TRACTOR WILL FUNCTION PROPERLY FOR A LONG TIME PROVIDED YOU
CARRY OUT THE RUN-IN CORRECTLY AND PERFORM OPERATIONS OF TECH-
NICAL MAINTENANCE IN TIMELY MANNER AS SPECIFIED IN SECTION 6 "TECH-
NICAL MAINTENANCE"!
ATTENTION: IT IS OBLIGATORY THAT YOU CARRY OUT TRACTOR RUN-IN
FOR 30 HOURS! LOAD THE TRACTOR NOT MORE THAN TO 80 % OF ITS RATED
POWER BEFORE THE FIRST TECHNICAL MAINTENANCE (TM-1) (125 HOURS)!
