6.4.2.3 Operation 12. Washing the tractor and cleaning the cabin inside
Wash the tractor and clean the cabin inside.
During the washing with a water jet, the engine shall be stopped, the battery dis-
connect switch shall be in "OFF" position.
During tractor washing take steps to protect the electric and electronic components,
plugs and sockets against entry of water. It is forbidden to direct a water jet at electric and
electronic components, bundle cable connectors.
Maximum water temperature shall not exceed 50°С. It is forbidden to add corrosive
agents (detergents) into water for washing.
After washing the tractor, purge the electric and electronic components and bundle
cable connectors with compressed air.
6.4.2.4 Operation 13. Check of oil level and condition in engine air cleaner sump
Release two nuts 1 (Figure 6.4.7) and remove sump 2 of air cleaner 3. Check the oil
level in the sump, which shall be on the level of annular band "A". Top up the oil, if neces-
sary.
If there is dirt or water in the oil, drain the contaminated oil, rinse the sump and fill it
with engine oil, that has been filtered and processed, up to the level of annular band.
Check the system for air-tightness according to section 6.4.4.9 "Operation 40.
Check of air-tightness of all joints of air cleaner and intake duct."
ATTENTION: DO NOT OVERFILL THE SUMP WITH OIL ABOVE THE ANNULAR
BAND "A", SINCE IT CAN CAUSE INGRESS OF OIL INTO ENGINE COMBUSTION
CHAMBERS AND CREATE FALSE IMPRESSION OF INCREASED OIL CONSUMPTION
FOR BURN!
ATTENTION: IN CONDITIONS OF HEAVY DUSTINESS OF THE AIR, CHECK
THE LEVEL AND CONDITION OF OIL IN THE SUMP OF ENGINE AIR CLEANER EVE-
RY 20 HOURS OF TRACTOR OPERATION!
ATTENTION: IN CASE THERE IS NO CONTAMINATION, CHANGE OIL IN THE
AIR CLEANER SUMP EVERY 500 HOURS OF TRACTOR OPERATION OR MORE OF-
TEN.
6.4.2.5 Operation 14. Check of oil level in hydraulic power steering body
Note – The operation shall be performed on tractors with installed HPS or HSC with
HPS body.
To check oil level in HPS body (Figure 6.4.8) do the following:
- place the tractor on level ground;
- raise the hood as indicated in subsection 6.2 "Providing access to tractor components for
technical maintenance"
