6.4.3.1 General instructions
Perform the previous operations, as well as operations listed in this subsec-
tion 6.4.3.
6.4.3.2 Operation 23. Accumulator battery technical maintenance
The operation shall be carried out every 250 hours, but not less often than once in

To carry out technical maintenance of AB perform the following:
- unscrew two bolts М6 fastening the rear drop-off panel (in cabin behind operator's

- clean the batteries from dust and dirt;
- check the condition of terminals 2 (Figure 6.4.16) of outlet pins, which are located
under protective cases "A" (Figure 6.4.16), and ventilation holes in plugs 1. If necessary,
lubricate the terminals with technical petroleum jelly and clean out the ventilation holes;
- unscrew plugs 1of filler opening of accumulator batteries, and check for the follow-
ing:
1. Electrolyte level – if necessary, add distilled water so that the electrolyte level
is 10 to 15 mm above the protective grid, or at the level marked on the battery case.
2. Degree of battery discharge by electrolyte density – if necessary recharge the
battery. Discharge of the battery below 50 % in summer and 25% in winter is not allowed.

6.4.3.3 Operation 24. Check/adjustment of gaps in steering joints
To check backlash and play in joints 5 (Figure 6.4.18) of steering link 2, it is neces-

case the steering wheel angular play is more than 25° as shown in figure 6.4.17, remove
the play in steering joints by performing the following actions:
- stop the engine;
- brake the tractor using the parking brake;
- remove locking wire 3 (Figure 6.4.18);

is more than 25°, i.e. the steering joint play cannot be eliminated by tightening of threaded
plugs 4, it is necessary to stop the engine, engage the parking brake, take joint to pieces
and replace worn-out parts. Assemble joint 5, and tighten plug 4 so that ball pin rotates
