5.4 Scheduled Maintenance Operations

5.4.1 Daily Maintenance (DMT) After Each 8 - 10 Hours of Operation or Daily

5.4.1.1 General directions
Perform following operations every 8 - 10 hours of the tractor operation or when the
tractor shift ends (whichever is earlier):
5.4.1.2 Operation 1. Checking the oil level in the engine case.
Park the tractor on flat site and check the oil level, but no earlier than 3-5 minutes af-
ter the engine stop, when oil completely drains into casing:
To check the oil level in the engine casing, proceed as follows:
- remove the oil-measuring rod 3 (Figure 5.4.1), wipe it dry and put it back as far as
it will go;
- remove the oil-measuring rod 3 and determine the oil level. The oil level shall be
between the upper and lower marks of the oil-measuring rod. If necessary top up by oil to
required level through the filling neck 1 after removing the cap 2.
- put the cap 2 back in its place.

ATTENTION: DO NOT ALLOW THE ENGINE OPERATION WITH THE OIL LEVEL
BELOW THE OIL-MEASURING ROD LOWER MARK!
ATTENTION: DO NOT FILL WITH OIL ABOVE THE OIL-MEASURING ROD UP-
PER MARK. EXCESS OIL WILL BURN AND LEAD TO FALSE ASSUMPTION ABOUT
HIGH BURNING OIL CONSUMPTION!
WARNING: BE CAREFUL TO AVOID CONTACT WITH HOT OIL!
5.4.1.3 Operation 2. Generator cleaning
Clean the generator 2 (Figure 5.4.2) from dust and blow off by compressed air.
