4.2 Tractor use

4.2.1 Boarding the tractor

The tractor shall be boarded through the left door of the cab. If a canopy frame or a
canopy base is installed, board the tractor from on left side. A foot step is provided to
make tractor boarding more convenient.

4.2.2 Preparing for engine start and starting the engine

4.2.2.1 General instructions

IT IS FORBIDDEN TO OPERATE THE TRACTOR IN CLOSED ROOMS WITHOUT
PROPER VENTILATION (AIR EXCHANGE). EXHAUST GASES MAY LEAD TO A LE-
THAL OUTCOME!
IT IS FORBIDDEN TO START THE ENGINE WITH THE SYSTEMS OF COOLING
AND LUBRICATION OF THE ENGINE UNFILLED.
IT IS FORBIDDEN TO OPERATE THE TRACTOR IF WITH THE ENGINE RUN-
NING, THE EMERGENCY ENGINE OIL PRESSURE LAMP IS GLOWING! STOP THE
ENGINE IMMEDIATELY.
ATTENTION: THE TRACTOR CAB IS EQUIPPED WITH A SINGLE-OCCUPANCY
SEAT AND THE OPERATOR IS THE ONLY PERSON TO STAY IN!
ATTENTION: START THE TRACTOR AND CHECK THE INSTRUMENTS' OPER-
ATION ONLY WHILE STAYING IN THE OPERATOR'S SEAT!
ATTENTION: REMEMBER THAT ENGINE START-UP IS POSSIBLE ONLY IF THE
RANGE AND GEAR SHIFTING LEVER IS SET TO THE "NEUTRAL" MODE!
ATTENTION: RESORT TO THE METHOD OF STARTING UP THE TRACTOR BY
TAKING INTO TOW ONLY IN EXTREME EMERGENCY CASES AND ONLY ON A
TRACTOR THAT HAS UNDERGONE A FULL 30-HOURS' RUN-IN.
4.2.2.2 Preparing for engine start and starting the engine.
4.2.2.2.1 Preparing for engine start and starting the engine on tractors with univer-
sal cabin (canopy frame or canopy base on the basis of universal cabin)
To start the engine, do the following operations:
- engage the tractor parking brake;
- open one or both the cocks of fuel tanks if they are closed;
- if necessary, fill in fuel and bleed the fuel delivery system to remove air from it;
- raise (i.e. close) the shutter of water radiator for a quicker heat-up of the engine
(this operation is not required under normal conditions (plus 4°С and higher)).
- set the handle for fuel feed control into the position that corresponds to the maxi-
mum fuel supply to the engine;
- set the handle to shift rear PTO from continuous or ground-speed drive into position
"Neutral", and the rear PTO control lever into position "Off";
