2.6 Pilot lamps unit

Two pilot lamps units 5 (figure 2.1.1) are built in the instrument board of tractors
"BELARUS-80.1/82.1/820". Each PLU includes 6 pilot lamps and one button to check oper-
ating capacity of the pilot lamps.
Pilot lamps and buttons in PLU lay-out scheme is shown in figure 2.6.1.
1, 14 – button to check pilot lamps operating capacity; 2 – pilot lamp (orange color)
of air cleaner filter max. clogging; 3, 4, 7, 9, 10 – idle pilot lamps; 5 – pilot lamp-indicator
(orange color) of heating plugs operation; 6 – pilot lamp (red color) of emergency oil pres-
sure drop in HSC system; 8 – pilot lamp-indicator of road headlamp upper beam actuation;
11 – pilot lamp-indicator of tractor blinkers actuation; 12 – pilot lamp-indicator of tractor
trailer blinkers actuation; 13 – pilot lamp-annunciator of parking brake actuation.
Operation principle of PLU pilot lamps is as follows:
- when button 1 is pressed (figure 2.6.1), all lamps of left PLU have to light up. When button 14
is pressed, all lamps of right PLU have to light up. If one of six used pilot lamps (2, 5, 6, 8, 11, 12 or 13)
does not light up then it is necessary to install a non-faulty lamp or to replace pilot lamps unit (if LEDs
are installed);
- pilot lamp of air cleaner filter maximum clogging 2 lights up when maximum permissi-
ble level of filter clogging is exceeded and its cleaning or replacement is needed;
- pilot lamp-indicator of heating plugs operation shows operation of heating plugs (op-
eration algorithm of heating plugs pilot lamp-indicator is described in subsection 4.2.2.2.1 "En-
gine start and preparation for it of tractors with a universal cabin (canopy frame or canopy
base on the basis of a universal cabin)";
- pilot lamp-indicator of road headlamps upper beam actuation 8 lights up, when road
headlamps upper beam is actuated;
- pilot lamp-indicators of tractor and trailer blinkers actuation 11 and 12 work in blinking
mode when left or right turn signal is switched on by multifunctional underwheel switch 1 (fig-
ure2.2.1), or when emergency flashing switch 2 is switched on;
- pilot lamp-annunciator of parking brake actuation 13 (figure 2.6.1) works in blinking mode with
a frequency of 1 Hz when parking brake sensor actuates;
- pilot lamp 6 of emergency oil pressure drop in the HSC system lights up when oil
pressure in HSC system drops below 0.08 MPa (periodical lighting up of lamp 6 is allowed at
minimum engine speed – when the engine speed rises, lamp 6 should go out). If HPS is in-
stalled instead of HSC on the tractors "BELARUS-80.1/82.1", pilot lamp 6 is not used.
