10. When the tractor and the implement coupled are positioned linearly with the
cardan shaft retracted in full, check if there is a sufficient clearance L
В) between tube face and universal joint yoke end butt. Minimal permissible clearance L
shall make not less than 50 mm
11. After coupling the cardan shaft, regularize all the protective devices, which in-
cludes fixing the shaft's guard housing against rotation with the chains as indicated in Fig-
ure 5.6.3.
12. Limit the RLL lifting to the uppermost position along when needed. It is essential
for slope angle decrease, for exclusion of possibility of contact and damage of the cardan
shaft, and for providing of safety clearance between the tractor and the implement.
13. After the cardan shaft dismounting it is necessary to put guard hoods on the end
extensions of PTO shaft and PRS!
14. After the PTO shaft is disabled consider the hazard of the cardan shaft and indi-
vidual mechanisms of the implement coupled coasting. Therefore, the dangerous area be-
tween the tractor and the implement can be entered only after the PTO shaft is completely
despinned!
15. Check the implement for operation with the cardan shaft coupled to the PTO
shaft and PRS at the minimum and maximum rpm of the tractor engine crankshaft.
16. While transporting of the tractor with trailed and semi-mounted implements for
considerable distances, including from one field to another, it is recommended to discon-
nect the cardan shaft from the tractor and from the implement.
17. Maintenance, cleaning and repair services of the implement with the cardan
drive coupled to the tractor shall be carried out only when the PTO shaft is detachd and
the tractor engine is disabled.
The PTO shaft shall be disengaged in the following cases:
- after the tractor has been stopped, but only after the implement coupled has fin-
ished a full duty cycle;
- on turns, when the implement is lifted to the transport position;
- when moving up a steep slope.
Do not engage PTO shaft in the following cases:
- when the tractor engine is disengaged;
- the implement coupled to the tractor is in transport position;
- when the working attachments are sunken into the soil;
- if process material overlays the implement working attachments or if the working
attachments are clogged or stuck;
- if the tilt angle (refraction angle) in any plane of cardan shaft hinged joint is con-
siderable.
