Broadcast Storm Control
16.1 Broadcast Storm Control Overview
Broadcast storm control limits the number of broadcast, multicast and destination lookup failure (DLF)
packets the OLT receives per second on the ports. When the maximum number of allowable broadcast,
multicast and/or DLF packets is reached per second, the subsequent packets are discarded. Enable this
feature to reduce broadcast, multicast and/or DLF packets in your network. You can specify limits for
each packet type on each port.
16.1.1 What You Can Do
• Use the Broadcast Storm Control screen
multicast and destination lookup failure (DLF) packets the OLT receives per second on the ports.
• Use the Broadcast Storm Control Status screen
counters of the each port on the OLT.
16.2 Broadcast Storm Control Setup
Use this screen to configure the broadcast storm control feature.
Click Advanced Application > Broadcast Storm Control in the navigation panel to display the screen as
shown next.
