101.1 LLDP Overview
LLDP (Link Layer Discovery Protocol) allows a network device to advertise its identity and capabilities on
the local network. It also allows the device to maintain and store information from adjacent devices
which are directly connected to the network device. This helps an administrator discover network
changes and perform necessary network reconfiguration and management. The device information is
encapsulated in the LLDPDUs (LLDP data units). LLDPDUs are formed of TLV (Type, Length, Value) data
structures. Device information carried in the received LLDPDUs is stored in the standard MIB.

DESCRIPTION
Enables LLDP so the OLT uses LLDP to send and
get information about devices connected to its
interfaces.
Disables LLDP so the OLT does not use LLDP to
send and get information about devices
connected to its interfaces.
Enters the sub-commands for configuring
settings for the specified port.
aid: <ge|msc|pon>-<slot>-<port>
Configures how the OLT uses LLDP on this port.
tx-only: Has the OLT send local LLDP
information through this port.
rx-only: Has the OLT receive remote LLDP
information through this port.
tx-only: Has the OLT send local LLDP
information and receive remote LLDP
information through this port.
Enables the sending of LLDP notifications about
changes in the adjacent devices through this
port.
Enables encapsulating the management
address in the LLDPDUs in TLV (Type, Length,
Value) form.
Enables encapsulating the port description in
the LLDPDUs in TLV form.
