Configuring IRDP
Purpose
To enable and configure the ICMP Router Discovery Protocol (IRDP) on an interface. This
protocol enables a host to determine the address of a router it can use as a default gateway. It is
disabled by default.

Use this command to enable IRDP on an interface. The no form of this command disables IRDP on
an interface.

ip irdp enable
no ip irdp enable

Example
This example shows how to enable IRDP on the VLAN 1 interface:
C2(su)->router(Config)#interface vlan 1
C2(su)->router(Config-if(Vlan 1))#ip irdp enable
