Example
This example shows how to clear the message of the day banner to a blank string:
C2(rw)->clear banner motd

show version

Use this command to display hardware and firmware information. Refer to "Downloading a New
Firmware Image" on page 3‐30 for instructions on how to download a firmware image.

Mode
Switch command, read‐only.
Example
This example shows how to display version information. Please note that you may see different
information displayed, depending on the type of hardware.

What It Displays...
Switch's model number.
Serial number of the switch.
• Hw: Hardware version number.
• Bp: BootPROM version.
• Fw: Current firmware version number.
• BuFw: Backup firmware version number.
• PoE: Power over Ethernet driver version. (Displays only for PoE switches.)
