b) Select Windows Firewall.
c) Select Change Settings.
d) Select the Exceptions tab.
e) If the TFTP server application has already added an exception to the list, select the

with the firmware auto update feature will automatically download the new firmware files
within an hour.

Setting up a syslog server

1. Download and install Syslog software to a server accessible by all TalkSwitch units that you
will manage, preferably the same device hosting your TFTP server. Note the IP address or
FQDN of the server: it will be needed to configure the TalkSwitch units you administer.
One Syslog application (free) can be found at Kiwi Enterprises www.kiwisyslog.com. For
more information about syslog servers, see http://autoupdate.talkswitch.com/01/
Support/ThirdParty/EN/index.htm
2. Configure the Syslog daemon settings according to the documentation provided by the
supplier of your Syslog software. By default, TalkSwitch uses port 514 to transmit Syslog
events.
