10.5 Communication via PROFINET IO
10.5.1 Activating online mode: STARTER via PROFINET IO
Description
The following options are available for online operation via PROFINET IO:
● Online operation via IP
Requirements
● STARTER with Version ≥ 4.1.5 (SINAMICS DCM is supported starting only from
STARTER Version 4.1.5)

Procedure for activating online mode with PROFINET
1. Set the IP address in Windows XP.
This involves assigning a fixed, free IP address to the PG/PC.
2. Settings in STARTER
3. Enter the IP address and a name for the drive unit's PROFINET interface.
The PROFIBUS interface must be "initialized" so that STARTER can establish
communication.
4. Select online mode in STARTER.
