The H8/3857 Group and H8/3854 Group include a resistance-ladder-based successive-

approximation analog-to-digital converter. The maximum number of analog input channels is

eight in the H8/3857 Group and four in the H8/3854 Group.

The A/D converter has the following features.

• 8-bit resolution

• Input channels

⎯ 8 in H8/3857 Group

⎯ 4 in H8/3854 Group

• Conversion time: approx. 12.4 μs per channel (at 5 MHz operation)

• Built-in sample-and-hold function

• Interrupt requested on completion of A/D conversion

• A/D conversion can be started by external trigger input
