If the Install Software button is not available, it means that at least
one of the prerequisites are not met and you must first install them.
Click the Install Software Prerequisites button. Proceed with
Installing software prerequisites" on page 23.
If all prerequisites are present on the PC, proceed with Installing the
software" on page 26.
You can also use the advanced installation option to update the
instrument's embedded software. Proceed with updating the embedded
software as instructed in a separate document Upgrading Thermo
Scientific Varioskan to SkanIt Software 2.4.3.
To install software prerequisites, follow these steps:
1. The installation of a new database engine does not affect any other
database engines if they are installed. If you want to configure SkanIt
Software to use any of the existing MSDE server instances, you must
know the system administrator (sa) password for that instance and the
password must not be blank. Also, the MSDE 2000 instance must be
set to use SQL Server or mixed mode authentication.
If the MSDE2000 database engine is not installed on your computer,
it will be installed first. The MSDE System Administrator Password
dialog is launched.
