Command Line Interface

name

show vlan
name
The name Interface Configuration mode command adds a name to a VLAN. To
remove the VLAN name, use the no form of this command.
Syntax
name string
no name
Parameters
• string — Unique name to be associated with this VLAN.
(Range: 1-32 characters)
Default Setting
No name is defined.
Command Mode
Interface Configuration (VLAN) mode. Cannot be configured for a range of
interfaces (range context).
Command Usage
There are no user guidelines for this command.
Example
The following example gives VLAN number 19 the name Marketing.
Console(config)# interface vlan 19
Console(config-if)# name Marketing

map protocol protocols-group

The map protocol protocols-group VLAN Configuration command maps a
protocol to a group of protocols. Use the no form of this command to delete the map.
Syntax
map protocol protocol [encapsulation] protocols-group group
no map protocol protocol [encapsulation]
Parameters
- protocol — The protocol is 16 bits protocol number or one of the reserved
names that are defined in the usage guidelines. (Range: 0x0000 – 0x0600)
