Command Line Interface
• packet_count — Number of packets to send. If 0 is entered, it pings until
stopped. (Range: 0-65535 packets)
• time_out — Timeout in milliseconds to wait for each reply.
(Range: 50 - 65535 milliseconds)
Default Setting
Default packet size is 56 bytes.
Default number of packets to send is 4.
Default timeout value is 2000 milliseconds.

Command Usage
Press Esc to stop pinging.
Following are examples of unsuccessful pinging:
Destination does not respond. If the host does not respond, a "no answer from
host" appears in ten seconds.
Destination unreachable. The gateway for this destination indicates that the
destination is unreachable.
Network or host unreachable. The device found no corresponding entry in the
route table.
Examples
The following examples display pinging results:
Console> ping 10.1.1.1
Pinging 10.1.1.1 with 64 bytes of data:
64 bytes from 10.1.1.1: icmp_seq=0. time=11 ms
64 bytes from 10.1.1.1: icmp_seq=1. time=8 ms
64 bytes from 10.1.1.1: icmp_seq=2. time=8 ms
64 bytes from 10.1.1.1: icmp_seq=3. time=7 ms
----10.1.1.1 PING Statistics----
4 packets transmitted, 4 packets received, 0% packet loss
round-trip (ms) min/avg/max = 7/8/11
Console> ping yahoo.com
