Configuring the Switch
VLANs are dynamically configured based on join messages issued by host devices
and propagated throughout the network. GVRP must be enabled to permit automatic
VLAN registration, and to support VLANs which extend beyond the local switch
(Default: Disabled).
The GVRP Parameters Page is divided into port and LAG parameters. The field
definitions are the same.
Command Attributes
• GVRP Global Status — Indicates if GVRP is enabled on the device. The possible
field values are:
• Enable — Enables GVRP on the selected device.
• Disable — Disables GVRP on the selected device.
• Unit No. —Indicates the stacking member for which the Multiple Hosts information
is displayed.
• Interface — Displays the port on which GVRP is enabled. The possible field values
are:
• Port — Indicates the port number on which GVRP is enabled.
• LAG — Indicates the LAG number on which GVRP is enabled.
• GVRP State— Indicates if GVRP is enabled on the port. The possible field values
are:
• Enabled — Enables GVRP on the selected port.
• Disabled — Disables GVRP on the selected port.
• Dynamic VLAN Creation — Indicates if Dynamic VLAN creation is enabled on the
interface. The possible field values are:
• Enabled — Enables Dynamic VLAN creation on the interface.
• Disabled — Disables Dynamic VLAN creation on the interface.
• GVRP Registration — Indicates if VLAN registration through GVRP is enabled on
the device. The possible field values are:
• Enabled — Enables GVRP registration on the device.
• Disabled — Disables GVRP registration on the device.
• Global System LAGs — Displays the same field information as the ports, but
represent the LAG RSTP.
Web – Click Layer 2, VLAN, VLAN, GVRP Parameters, define the fields, and click
