Configuring Loopback Detection Globally

The Loopback Detection Properties Page contains parameters for configuring LBD
globally.
Command Attributes
Loopback Detection Status — Indicates if LBD is enabled on the device. The
possible field values are:
Enable — Enables LBD on the device.
Disable — Disables LBD on the device. This is the default value.
Loopback Mode — Defines the LBD mode running on the device. The possi-
ble field values are:
Source MAC Address — Indicates the LBD packet's destination MAC
address is equal to the source interface's MAC address. When forwarding
traffic, the source MAC address used by the application is always the
interface MAC address.
Base MAC Address — Indicates the LBD packet's destination MAC
address is the device MAC address.
Detection Interval — Defines the time lapse between LBD packets. The possi-
ble field range is 30 - 60 seconds. The default is 30 seconds.
Auto Recovery — Indicates if the ports which are shut down through LBD are
moved to an Active state after a user-defined time period. The possible field
values are:
Enable — Enables Auto Recovery on the device.
Disable — Disables Auto Recovery on the device. This is the default
value.
