FUEL TANK GAUGE SENDING UNIT
ROLL OVER VALVE
PURPOSE AND OPERATION OF THE VALVE
The roll over valve is a device installed in all
"H-body" vehicles to prevent fuel from escaping
from the tank in case of an accident where the
vehicle is tipped on it's side or top. A ball in the
valve closes the vent in this condition to prevent
fuel spillage. Under normal driving conditions, the
valve simply functions as a tank vent.
NOTE: The rollover valve will not prevent the
tank from being overfilled and is not
intended for this purpose. See the
vehicle's owner's manual for fuel tank
filling procedure.
WARNING
Do not alter the valve or eliminate it from the
system. This is a safety feature and must not be
tampered with.
